The St.Ives Concert Band was formed on the 1st November 2006 by the members of the St.Ives Town Band which served its community for well over 100 years and something we now as a concert band appreciate and remember. We are proud to serve such a supporting community.

The band now incorporates woodwind instruments such as Flutes, Clarinets and Saxophones also lead and bass guitars, keyboard alongside an extensive range of brass instruments, we still carry the tradition of using Cornets instead of Trumpets to maintain a rounder more mellow sound.

We currently have 30 members within the band with an average age of 18, each section is led by younger players with experienced adults providing support and encouragement to the younger members helping them develop experience, skill and confidence in their playing plus every younger member is given the opportunity to become section leaders once they reach a certain standard.
